Evie Week 21

What's new:

  • Evie is almost up to eating a full jar of baby food a day.  We've moved to stage 2 foods so she is now eating fruits and veggies mixed with oatmeal.  She is also drinking out of a sippy cup, with my help of course ... she isn't quite able to hold the cup and tip it back far enough yet to drink but she LOVES her apple juice.
  • She is rolling over so much now, that as soon as I lay her on her back she is on her belly in less than two minutes.  It seems her preferred sleeping position is now her belly too.  She is trying SO hard to crawl, kicking her legs behind her and trying to move her arms - she just needs to lift her belly from the floor and she will be on the go!
  • She can now lift objects with only two or three fingers
  • She is so in love with her Daddy, each evening when he comes home, she gives him the biggest smile!
  • We had two (fairly) successful outings out to dinner with Evie this last week.

Evie's Monthly Photo (5 Months)

My Five Month Milestones

  • I've been rolling over from back to tummy on a regular basis.
  • I sleep 11-12 hours straight at night!
  • I don't mind my clothes being changed anymore
  • I can sit unsupported for a couple minutes at a time
  • I've learned how to make noises with my tongue
  • I'm smiling and laughing all the time.
  • I started solids!  My favorite foods are squash, pears and apples.  I'm not such a fan of oatmeal or peas.
She still sleeps around 15 hours a day, including about 6 to 8 hours at night (with waking in between!) and 2 or 3 naps during the day. She breastfeeds or bottle-feeds every 3 to 5 hours and may have started on solids. She most likely weighs an extra 1 to 1.25 pounds since last month! She’s probably fascinated by her hands and may have started bringing both of them together. (Patty-cake time!). She’s likely reaching with both hands, grasping things and holding them using all his fingers. Hide an object and then reveal it, so baby will start to learn that things still exist when he can’t see them.

Evie Week 20

What's New:

  • We tried some sweet potatoes and peas this week.  Sweet potatoes are a go, peas are a no.
  • Our big girl has been sitting up on her own without support!  Minus a couple of face-plants from time to time (on the soft couch of course), she's enjoying her new-found mobility.
  • She is grabbing at things more than ever now.  She particularly loves trying to grab my coffee cup in the morning.

^^ Mischievous ^^
